Dresser DIY

Here we go folks.  The moment we've all been waiting for.  Drum roll please!!!!!

See this ugly thing? It's been cooped up in storage for aproximatley the last 10 years.  I thought it needed some refreshing before we head off to college.  Notice the power tool on top of it.  I actually used it! I'm not a power tool virgin anymore people. Are you excited to see the end result?

Wait for it........................................

We're almost there.......................

BAM! Isn't it a beauty?!?

All I need is to find some knobs for the drawers and this baby is complete! It wasn't that hard overall but it was kind of time consuming with all the taping. Tape. Paint. Dry. Paint. Dry. Paint. Dry.  Repeat.

Next DIY is in process!

Owl By Myself

Hello, ladies and gents.  I hope you had a spectacular day! I did some more DIY, can't get any better than that :)

This project could not be possible without Sandra J. Gunter. She's pretty much amazing. We share our love of decorating, and I admire all of her garage sale junk buys.  Including this one!

You're all probably thinking I've gone to far with this craze, but owls are sooooo cute! So since this one doesnt really go with my color scheme I decided to do a little revamping.  Hold on to your pants folks.......

I know! Cutest thing you've ever saw! This is going to look smashing in my apartment! HOLLA for college!

I bet you think this cute creature is saying, Im going to college owl by myself with Katie, great news for her, there's 2! I'll prob be painting him blue. Im thinking I should name them, Fiona and Fenwick.

Tell me your thoughts! :)

All I Do Is Save

Hello dearest blog pals.

Today has been quite the exciting day! College registration in the a.m!  Im all ready for classes in the fall and cant wait to experience life.  Greatest news of the day? I have an attached garage at my apartment! You see, I hate winter.  Every part of it. Snow. Bad weather. Coldness.  You can't wear white shoes. So you know what I decided to do? Move 1 hour closer to coldness.  I swear I wasn't thinking straight, but the attached garage takes some of the pain away!

Anywhoooo, back to what this post is about.  I got another deal guys. Im so amazing at this.  Brace yourself. Ready? HERE WE GOOOOOOO!!

These wedges look like a million bucks.  But let me tell you a little somethin.  $8. Can you believe it? Don't worry, I couldn't either.  I'm floatin on cloud 9 with these babys. Stare at these suckers as long as you want, no ones timing you.

P.S. I got the ugly skirt yesterday in the mail. That's all I really have to say about that..........

cheap ugliness.

I don't know if you know this, but I am a MAJOR bargain shopper. It's a disease. I admit, I buy clothes that I don't need, but if the price is right I make myself love it.  I go psycho crazy when I can get a pair of nude wedges for $8. My friends make fun of me whenever they ask me about my clothes, "I got this really cute purse the other day, only $16." or "Check out this amazing dress, $14!" Frugal=Fashion in my eyes people.  But what I did tonight tops it off.  To make a long story short, I had this visa gift card that had $14.86 to be exact. What am I gonna get that's only $14.86?! Wellllll, I never cease to amaze myself sometimes. A skirt and rings from my friend Charlotte Russe totaling in at $6.98, shipping $6.99 (STUPID). You may be thinking, "Wow, thats a great deal!" Indeed it is, although, you haven't seen the skirt yet.

Is this not the ugliest thing you have ever seen? I think so! But it was only $2.99! Thats INSANE! I made myself like it at that price. People, you need to tell me what to wear with this thing. *sigh*

Fashionably depressed,
Katie :)

Thank you for being such a devoted Fabulous Life of a Shopaholic blog follower, you are awesome. :)

So let's get back on track.  I've been working on a DIY the last two days!  I saw this project on Pinterest so I can't take full credit :) Here's how it started.

I know. You may be thinking, "Where in the world is she gonna put that globe?" It's comin to college with me folks! It'll be great decor in my bedroom don't you think?

I had to add some glam to it because nothing is ever enough for this girl. :)

This will be perfect on a stack of books on my yellow chevron dresser (that i will be starting this week!) What do you guys think? :)

Strides For Jacob

Hello all of you whoever read this blog :) I hope you all had a great Sunday! Mine was spent poolside with my father's family. It was great fun and I adore all of them!

This past year my baby cousin Jacob died of SIDS at daycare. It turned all of our lives upside down. I will remember that day forever, it was extremely tragic for our whole family. I think of Jacob daily, as he was the happiest baby I knew.

Jacob's family and friends are planning an event, Strides for Jacob, on August 4th (Jacob would be 15 months) at 9:30 am.  The event will be held at the Maccray High School and include a 5k walk, balloon release, and baseball/softball/kickball tournaments.  It would mean so much to Jacob's family if you could come join us to celebrate Jacob's joyful life. All the money raised will go towards the SIDS foundation.

I love this picture of Jacob, doesn't it look like he's waving good bye to all of us?

Go to the Strides for Jacob event page on facebook for a registration form or Wild Hare/Citizens Bank in Clara City. I hope to see you all there!

Hello all you fellow bloggers. Hope your 1st week of summer is spectacular and your soakin up all the beautiful sun! I've been chillin in my pool every. single. day.

I'm blogging right now to get away from a speech im supposed to be working on for my college online class. boo public speaking, you scare me.  Speaking of college, I'll be going there in 2.5 months! This girl is excited! I'm mostly pumped to be able to decorate my apartment. I've been "collecting" stuff for my bedroom and can't wait to make it feel like my new home. Take a look at what it's gonna look like.

1st off, here's my color scheme. If you haven't been introduced to design seeds, it's the greatest inspiration site ever.

Gordmans! Chevron is my fave pattern!

This is my bedding, it's a little more bright in person.

More Chevron!

The last 2 pictures are (some) of the DIY projects i have to do yet. 1st: 2 simple garbage cans spray painted and flipped upside down, genius! 2nd: I have a dresser similiar to this but i havent decide if i wanna do it yellow or the light blue! What do you guys think?

There's gonna be a couple other surprises on the way too! I gotta keep looking for more unique pillows!

Back to the speech!
